NWRX1020 Advanced z/OS REXX Programming
DESCRIPTION
This 2 day course will introduce students to the advanced facilities
available for coding REXX execs in a z/OS or OS/390 environment. A
series of written and lab exercises will be used to reinforce the
classroom education.
AUDIENCE
Programmers, technical support personnel, and other individuals
that need to write REXX execs.
OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will
learn to:
- Code user-developed REXX subroutines and
functions
- Use ISPF services in REXX execs
- Read and write sequential datasets
- Manipulate and access the REXX data
stack
- Create REXX based ISPF edit macros
- Execute REXX execs in batch jobs
- Compile and linkedit REXX execs
- Code REXX execs that interact with DB2
- Code REXX execs that issue MVS operator
