NWDB3016 DB2 Administration for Distributed Platforms (LUW) for Experienced Users
DESCRIPTION
This 4 day course is designed to review the concepts and components of DB2 version 9.5 for LINUX, UNIX and Windows. This course has 2 major sections; basic administration and advanced topics. DB2 GUI tools, DB2 commands and SQL will be used to practice DB2 administration activities. Basic Administration involves creating objects that support a logical data model. Basic administration activities will also include backup and recovery, data movement and security. Advanced topics include using explain tools and analyzing results. Index design has a great effect on performance and the Design Advisor will be used to help. Health monitoring will also be used to identify performance problems. DB2 Utilities and system commands can be used to support problem resolution and will be used in workshops. Autonomic features of DB2 will also be reviewed.
AUDIENCE
Database administrators and technical specialists with experience of relational databases.
